Re: COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

To our valued Customers, Vendors and Staff;
First of all, Shepherd Thermoforming wholeheartedly wishes you and your families safety and well being during these uncertain and challenging times. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all in some way and we wanted to update our partners as to what is happening at Shepherd in doing our part to mitigate the risk of spread.

Shepherd has many Customers that are deemed essential services by Health Canada and the World Health Organization. Furthermore, Shepherd is deemed an essential service by the Province of Ontario therefore, we will carry on operating and supplying thermoformed tooling and products.

Below are some of the measures that Shepherd is taking to prevent the spread of C-19:

  • Hygiene – Shepherd has an established hand washing policy which includes the practice of employees and/or visitors washing their hands before entering the production area. Disposable gloves have been provided for employees’ use during shifts and we have increased cleaning of high-touch surfaces throughout our operation.
  • Restricted access – no visitors currently allowed, all doors are locked (door bells at main entrance and shipping/receiving), truck drivers contained at shipping door vestibule and any non-essential services at our facility postponed. All meetings have either been postponed or moved to telecommunication/online.
  • Temperature screening via forehead temperature scan for all employees at entrance prior to shift start. Any staff with symptoms are asked to self-isolate for the 2 week period.
  • Social distancing – maintain 2 metre distance between individuals at Shepherd. We are currently re-working our production schedule as some jobs will now run longer due to reducing staff performing certain responsibilities (traditionally we would have multiple staff in close proximity perform these tasks). This precaution is necessary but shouldn’t cause too much of a disruption to maintaining delivery schedules.

Shepherd will continue to monitor and adjust our operation in accordance with provincial and federal recommendations. For further information in adhering to the Government of Canada public health services recommendations see the link below.
