Sub-Floor
Shims
A
large Canadian lumber and paper company had invested in a new sub-floor
product to sell through home improvement outlets. This very successful
product floats on basement floors with a plastic membrane layer between
the wood and the concrete. The shims are used to support the floor
panels where the concrete is low and mate with the membrane for easy
installation.
Shepherd
was very involved in this product in the early stages and worked with
an industrial designer to develop a shim made from high molecular
weight polyethylene. We package them in attractive sales cartons and
shipping cases right at the end of the thermoforming line ready for
distribution across North America.
