Recycling Symbols, Definitions & Examples:

	PET , PETE or PETG (polyethylene terephthalate) often shown as RPET to identify recycled content in the material.
Commonly used for: Soft drink, water bottles and many bottles or containers that are clear or tinted with colour.

	HDPE or PE-HD (high density polyethylene)
Commonly used for: Milk jugs, juice bottles, detergent and household cleaner bottles; shampoo bottles; bags and motor oil bottles.

	V (Vinyl) or PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
Commonly used for: Window cleaner and detergent bottles, wire jacketing, medical equipment, siding, windows and piping.

	LDPE (low density polyethylene)	Typically not used in thermoforming
Commonly used for: Squeezable bottles; shopping bags.

	PP (polypropylene)
Commonly used for: ketchup bottles, caps, medicine bottles and foams.

	PS (Polystyrene)
Commonly used for: Disposable plates, cups & cutlery, carry-out containers & CD cases.

	OTHER, can be a blend or layers of a number of materials.  PLA (poly lactic acid) is also found in this catagory.
Commonly used for: Water jugs, sunglasses, hardware, signs or displays, barrier sensitive containers.
