Pharmaceutical Pill Blister/Card System

Nursing home and institutional patients require a number of medications daily. Pharmaceutical manufacturers have made it easier for nurses to monitor and administer the prescription by using carded blister packaging that is labeled for each patient. Shepherd has been thermoforming institutional pill blisters for over 18 years and works very closely with the foil-lined card suppliers to provide the end users with a system that is very efficient. The blisters must function as a single dose dispenser and must be heat sealable. In some cases UV light protection is provided by using amber tinted PVC approved by the FDA. Shepherd uses high speed in-line pressure forming with fully automatic trimming and stacking for maximum efficiency.
