Automotive Seat Pallets

Shepherd's project development team works closely with seat manufacturers and automotive companies during that critical period prior to new model introduction. We design and build tooling and work with the metal feature supplier, taking full responsibility for the pallets' performance on the automated assembly lines and storage systems. Our unique 2 piece design combined with various types of knock down features, hold the seats securely during final assembly and travel smoothly and quietly on conveyor storage systems at the customer's plant and at the car plant assembly line. They are produced using high density polyethylene or high impact ABS where design details and long term integrity are important.

Ten years of experience in the development of this type of pallet means that we can be producing pallets very soon after seeing the seats or CAD files for the first time. Our rotary formers are highly efficient and because we use CNC routers, interior and exterior trimming is consistent and clean. Automotive seats are not the only interior sub-assembly using the Shepherd pallet. Instrument panels and other components handled in automated retrieval systems mount securely on our unique pallet base for final inspection and transfer to the car plant.
