Automotive Buttons

This tray has tiny features that orient the automotive buttons in each cavity such that they will not fit if rotated. In addition, the trays must stack without having to rotate them alternately. We built the form tooling with moving inserts allowing large undercuts to be formed in 8 places on each tray.

This series of trays for a major automotive electronics manufacturer is used throughout the decorating and assembly operations. They are durable, returnable and because of the visual similarity between tray types, they are identified with a colored stripe applied on the thermoforming line.
